About

ISMC members live by our creed “Brotherhood, Respect and Unity”, and our purposefulness is reflected in who we are and what we do. Every Iron Soul rides a Harley and behaves the way we think that the larger society ought to. Our members are a diverse group of civic-minded and responsible men of every ethnicity, color and creed, drawn together by the joy of riding, kickin’ it with the Brothas, and of giving back to our community. We fully accept and celebrate the differences in the cultures brought to our Club by our members. The “One Tribe” on our colors says it all.

Our center patch and many of our traditions are a nod to our Native American Brothas, the First Peoples of our homeland. Iron Souls come from all walks of life and occupations, and it is this broad combination of personal experience from the Brothas that allow the Club to create unique events and opportunities that live up to our standards of having fun, adventure, and of giving back. Every year, members work hard to make the kind of charitable donations of time and money that make a positive difference to those less fortunate than ourselves. The ISMC takes this work seriously, and we are a recognized tax-exempt 501( c ) 3 charitable organization. Our tax exemption number may be requested through this website.

The “Iron Souls M.C.” and our center patch have been a registered trademark since 1994. This website is operated and maintained exclusively by and for the members of the ISMC Oakland Chapter. Photos of our active Brothas are posted on the “Members” page under “Gallery”. Photos of inactive, retired or former Oakland Chapter members do not appear on the “Members” page, nor do the members of other ISMC chapters. Only club members whose name and photo are posted on this roster are authorized to solicit charitable donations in the name of the ISMC Oakland Chapter.

Among our contributions:

  • 2 decades of direct support to the Mother Wright Foundation, where we, her Sons, (as she  called us), held annual bike runs, collected food, clothing and personal and corporate donations, and even wrote a successful $20,000 grant for the Foundation.
  • Partnering with the Lend-A-Hand and Random Acts organizations to produce annual events such as Back to School Backpacks, and the Easter and Christmas holidays.
  • Funded a national cash scholarship through the International Association of Culinary Professionals Foundation.
  • Full funding and support of the “Iron Souls” little league team.
  • Partnering with the Sacramento Raceway and Dragbike Promotions to produce bike shows and grudge match racing.
  • Make guest appearances at schools, juvenile hall, and at community–based organizations to advocate for safe and responsible motorcycling as well as acting as positive role models.
  • Participated in the City of Oakland Adopt a Spot program.
  • The Club supports the work of the 66thMOB, many local youth programs, and too many other charitable organizations to mention.

 On the Road:

  • Souls regularly make the cross-country trip to the site of The National Bikers Association Annual Round-up held in alternating states.
  • The Club annually schedules overnight runs to Southern California as well as Nevada, and keeps a monthly roster of non-overnight runs and events in Northern California, many involving other clubs.
  • We regularly combine monthly business meetings with rides when possible.
  • The Club supports ISMC member Seabreeze #80 (a Funny Bike Class champion), as an active competitive racer in Pro-Am Motorcycle Drag Racing circuit.
  • The ISMC is a member of the Bay Area Bikers Association, and attends meetings of the Modified Motorcycles Association.
